Another frosty one in Edinburgh.
It’s not often you can say Scotland play well and get the result they deserve but that’s what happened last night in Poland. Okay so the Croatia result didn’t go our way but Scotland did their job and that’s something that hasn’t happened in a long time. We actually played some really nice attacking football too. No doubt Ben Doak is making a huge difference there.
Gilmour to Doak to McGinn and Scotland are one up within 3 minutes.
We missed some chances after, wee Billy had a cracking effort off the bar. It was only natural that Poland would go and equalise. So they did.
That’s usually how these things end but not this time. In injury time John Souttar launches one to the back post and there’s an unlikely Andy Robertson there to head home the winner.
Steve Clarke is loving it.
If I’m going to give the guy stick for what happened in the Euros then he deserves a bit of credit for last night. Just a bit though.
I’m glad the internationals are out the way for a while.
I’ve added a new piece to the shop. The Hibs 2024 outfit isn’t deserving of a squad design. The 2016 Scottish Cup winning team is though. Available at Fitbatweets.com
Enjoy your day
Keith
